Pre‑bidding best practices

At Hampton Estate Auction our goal is to provide the best and most comprehensive auction experience possible.
While we recommend bidding live, we offer pre‑bidding (also known as absentee bidding) for those unable to attend our live auctions.
In order to leave a bid, submit your maximum bid for your lot before the auction starts. If approved, your pre‑bid competes randomly with live bids and other pre‑bids.
While you may still win the lot for less than your maximum, live bidders can outbid you by one increment. Clearly, live bidding gives the participant an advantage. Though pre‑bidding is a trusted service, live auctions allow dynamic bidding and real time opportunities.
In addition to the hammer price, you'll pay a 25% Buyer's Premium and applicable sales tax on each lot you've purchased. If payment is made via Wire, ACH or Check and received within 7 days of the auction date, customers will receive a 2% discount on the total invoice amount.
